RKN Announce investment in purpose-built facility

We are beyond delighted to announce our new purpose-built office & factory facility, will soon become the base of RKN’s operations for years to come.

The new building, designed by us from the bottom up, boasts 13,500sqft of floor space over 2 stories, containing large office and factory areas, along with sizeable yard/garden space. Featuring high-performing two-tone cladding and Aluminium Curtain wall, windows and doors (provided by ourselves of course), our new home is right up-to-date with modern times, and provides a fabulous landmark for our business.

Having grown over 175% in the last 4 years, this is a massive milestone, with significant investment from our directors to not only expand into a larger premises, but design & build a central base from which we can continue to develop our business over the next decade and longer.

It sets in stone Nathan and Richard’s plans for RKN in the long term, as we continue to provide our services all over the UK. Whilst is has always been our ambition to own our own premises, the decision was based on necessity, for our recent expansion dictates the constant need for additional space for both office & factory staff to work in.

The striking building sits at the peak of Old Dalby Enterprise village Industrial estate, boasting spectacular views over the Leicestershire countryside whilst also being at the heart of a thriving business park. The site, sitting in 0.8 of an acre, is a stone’s throw from our MMC unit, which we moved into in late 2022.

Having been based in Sileby for the majority of our 15-year history, and more recently being over 3 sites (2 in Sileby, 1 in Old Dalby), the move will see us return to one central hub, allowing us to increase efficiency with all departments under one roof.

With us having developed the plans over the last year, the unit has been carefully designed with office & factory space on both the ground & first floors, allowing for efficient manufacturing flow and space to allow expansion in all departments over the coming years. It has allowed us the opportunity to improve facilities & equipment for all staff, which we hope will have positive effects on our quality & service across the business.

With planning just approved, ground works have commenced, with the unit due for completion in March 2023. As a part of the works, RKN ourselves will be manufacturing & installing our valued sole-system supplier, Senior Architectural System’s SF52 Curtain wall, PURe windows and 501 door sets, making for impressive aesthetics & performance.
