RKN installation nearing completion at GFT School project
In July we commenced on-site at South Nottinghamshire Academy, where, contracted for works by GF Tomlinson, we are installing Senior Architectural System’s SF52 curtain wall, 600 series window and 501 door sets to this additional building on the school site.
The new facility, built with the same brick/cladding aesthetics as the others on the same site, includes 7 Curtain walls and 30 windows. Windows were designed to cantilever outbound of the steel line, allowing for cladding & brickwork to be fitted after installation. This is a detail we are very similar with on DfE framework projects, and provided projecting steel support plates to meet the architectural requirements.
Having been away from the site until other works were completed, we are back next week to complete large-pane glazing and pressure plate & capping of curtain walls, with works to windows all finished.
Its been great work on a larger scheme with GFT again having completed over 20 projects for them over the years, and nice to have one close to home!
